WEDDING MENUAbout Fort York
250 Fort York Blvd, Toronto
Located on the west side of downtown Toronto, Fort York, Toronto’s best kept secret, is one of the city’s oldest historic sites. Fort York was built by the British and Canadian Armies in the late 18th and early 19th centuries to defend the new capital from the threat of a military attack, principally from the newly independent United States. Fort York guards the western entrance to the bay at that time as it was the only entrance. It was designated a National Historic site of Canada in 1923
The Historic site at Fort York houses Canada’s largest collection of buildings from the original War of 1812. In the 1950s Fort York was almost pulled down to make way for the Gardiner Expressway, but planners rerouted the elevated highway to the south of the grounds instead.
Fort York is perfect for receptions, gala dinners, film shoots and commercial photography. The site is able to accommodate up to 5,000 outdoor guests in the fort, and up to 10,000 in the Garrison Common. You can also hold your Fort York wedding there during the week only.
Whether you are planning a wedding at Fork York or another event, Fort York will truly be a unique experience steeped in history. Fort York event planning and Fort York wedding catering can be orchestrated by en Ville!
